I am looking into doing the Louisville Half Marathon, but can not find much information on it.  Has any one done this race before or signed up for this year?  Just trying to determine if it is worth running,  thoughts?

thanks, Brian

I'm doing the HM.  Route looks very flat compared to Derby Mini Marathon.  This will be my first time doing the race.  Website is http://www.louisvillemarathon.org//>

I am doing the 1/2 this year.  You can read about it at Headfirstperformance.com.   This will be my first time at this race.  From the map and from friends who have done both the full and 1/2, it is very flat and fast with a few hundred participants.  I believe that there are reviews of the race at marathonguide.com and probably here on BT.

I did it last year, nice and easy for your first half or full (toy mary compared to derby). It gets a little congested on the river walk not that big a deal. I have a race report up from last year. The avatar is me at the finish.

Definitely a great race for the price. Flat & Fast, good temperatures. Always a nice sunny morning to go along with it. Its worth it for sure! See you all there this year.

Would love to, but I'm still nursing aches and pains from IMLou!

Are you doing the half or the full?  Good luck either way.

I am still considering it.  My furthest distance so far has been 7 miles.  I think I could finish using the Galloway Method of Run 4/Walk 1 minute(s).  I tried doing a short course of 4.5 miles last night using this plan.  I was faster on my total time based on the same run I had done the night before running the entire time.

I may try and do 10-12 miles at the end of the month using Galloway Method and see how that feels.  If it's not to bad I will sign up otherwise there is always next year and no need to push to hard and create an injury.

Just out of curiosity, anyone looking to run around 1:30? I know this race thins out super fast after the gun, so it would be nice to have someone to run with and help me keep pace. Thanks and see you all there. should be a great day to run.

I signed up last week!  First running race since a 1.5 mile run when I was around 12 or 13.  Finished my last build run on Monday night.  Will be backing off a bit for the rest of the week with an 8 mile run planned for this Saturday.

I remember last year their was a guy pushing a baby jogger flying he was atleast top ten it was an incredible sight. I was about 5 miles in when he passed on the way back. Its a fast course until you get on the river walk then it bunches up a little.

I'm pumped for this weekend.  Haven't raced since last tri 8 weeks ago.   Heard weather may be in mid 30's Sunday AM, with possible frost.

My Garmin 405 shows 13.14M.  I was thinking it might get screwed up from running under highway, but did OK.

Garmin 305 of mine showed 13.22.  Weather was cold prior to start but perfect for running.

I did not have a GPS, but to me it felt like 15 or 16 miles   Any one know when the results will be posted, I am pretty sure I have a new PR by about 16 mins.
