Since this posted in the Wisconsin thread, I thought I'd post it here as well...

Who's in?

Ran a 20-miler last Saturday.  HR stayed relatively low (137 bpm avg) for the pace (9:13)...good sign.  Time to enjoy taper...

I'm in for 26.2.

You've got a heart like Lance, Sal.

Feeling good about the chance at a sub 4:00, but nothing extreme.

But somehow it doesn't translate into results.  Lance can run a marathon in 2:46.

I'm at least shooting for a PR (4:07)

...but Lance feels no pain!! Come on Sal, you're fast enough for a sub 4. Feel the burn...you can do it!

Ian is going back up there this year. I believe Birkie and MNDiver may be in as well.

I'm thinking about doing the half.  Where do you guys stay? Of the two campgrounds, one is RV only...the other has tent sites, but no showers.

I would have liked to do this but an opportunity at sleeping in my own bed, saving a lot of money and doing TCM was too hard too pass up.  Plus I looked and looked for lodging and nothing was available.  Maybe I'll have so much fun at TCM and recover so quickly I'll end up pulling a double.  Somehow I doubt that will happen.  Have fun guys.

You running two 26.2's in 7 days is about as likely as me running the Irongirl Duathlon.

So your saying 50/50?  Actually it would be in 6 days but I'm glad someone saw the humor in my statement.  Have fun in Ashland Jeff.

Sorry...for my wife and I, this is our end of summer trip, so we make a weekend of it...so I haven't stayed in Ashland except for a B&B (Second Wind, require 2 night minimum stay).

We'll typically book a block of rooms in Spirit Valley or Superior with a few other couples from the Rosemount running group.  That way the 'non-running' spouses have a place to go shopping while we're running.

Drive is about 1 hr, 15 min.  About as far as I typically have to drive to most triathlons north of town anyways...

I'll call my friend who camped in Ashland last year and find out if he has any recommendations...

I thought for sure Tammy would pester you incessantly until you signed up out of guilt convince you to do it...

It would be easier for Jeff to cross-dress for the Irongirl Duathlon than for the Irongirl Triathlon.  Bryan should run a double, just so we can see that...

...or maybe not...

I think I'm good either way.  9 mile run in drizzle this morning.  Underarmour, LS tech shirt, shorts and a pair of clean socks over my hands.  Good practice for a rainy race.

Anyone have a link for the atlete tracker for the marathon?  I cannot seem to find it for the life of me.

I knew that was the forecast for the Cities--should have assumed it for Ashland.  If anything, maybe we should hope for it to cool down.  I'd rather have snow than rain.

Well, as long as we're hoping...I'd rather have just clouds than rain!

Let's see how it looks on Thursday, but it ain't looking good at this point!
