Last Chance Rend Lake Tri Oct 4th

Wow... I didn't even see this event until now. I'm thinking about doing it.

I am doing the sprint...first year though for me.
I'm still trying to learn and this will be my greatest distance....plus I am using a mountain bike
Say Hi as you go by...ha

This will also be the first time I am using a wetsuit.
The low on Sat is supposed to be 43 degrees. Water temp should be ok though.

If this weekend weren't so crazy, I'd seriously consider doing it; I loved last weekend's sprint tri!

Is it the first year...the website made it sound like it had been before.

I'm doing long course...will be longest race thus far for me and first time with wetsuit in competition...should be interesting coming out of the water into the cold air and on the bike.  Think I'll probably have to sacrifice some T1 time to put on a warm/dry top to ride in.

Just wondering if anyone ended up doing this and what they thought of the race. I'm thinking about doing a late season half-iron distance, wouldn't mind a low key race for my first half. The timing is nice to allow plenty of recovery from Chicago too. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Bumped again.  Anyone have any scoop on this race in October?  Anyone do it last year?
