Stacie, have you ever bought socks from "SockGuy?"  I have some cool "Bad Kitty" and "Pirate skull & crossbone" socks.  I always feel like a BadA$$ when I wear them.

www.sockguy.com

They are great cycling socks!  I have a couple pair and they last!

what's on the side of your socks?  (or is that on the top??  im not sure when it comes to socks??)

i usually wear smart wool to run/ride in.  they keep my feet cool when its hot and hot when its cold.

isnt that just MAGICAL??

how do they do that?

just the plainjane ones, black.

stacieb

I am going to try a pair of compression socks...my daughter swears by them! anyone use them?

I don't use the socks but I use tights for recovery after a hard workout.  I like to think they are helping but it may just be a mental thing.

what brand do you use? I have one pair of sugoi compression shorts and they cut me in two! not liking them too much...but may be the brand!!??

I'd read of some people just using the compression socks from Wal-mart or Target. They claim they do the same thing. I haven't tried them yet.

really...my dd seems to think its Zoot or nothing and dang those are expensive socks...and the pair she wears just frayed so I was going to surprise her with a pair til I saw the price....IM still in sticker shock!!!!!! geeeeeeeeeez how much can it cost to make them if they charge almost $100 a pair??? this definitely is something that makes me go...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?????????????

I totally agree. It is a completely ridiculous price. There is no way those things cost 1/4 of that price to make.

Doesn't supply and demand stink - just like bicycles and good running shoes.

Speaking of which I saw someone post in BT yesterday about wanting some information on Target brand running shoes - run far and fast away from those if you want to be able to run - I will pay for good shoes (and bikes) just for the protection they offer.

REALLY!?? that is where I just got my last pairs!! RUT RO!

JUST KIDDING! sooo true...do not shop tennis shoes at Target/Walmart....I had to stand on this funky machine last time to have them analyze my foot so they could find the perfect shoe....at $173+ with tax...they should be perfect! and they are...I have yet to get a blister..even in my half marathon - my feet felt fabulous....my calves were a bit tight the next day...but my feet never felt better!

so here is the question of the day!? what brand shoe do you all wear?

me I have Newtons and Adidas Gels! and you????????

Adidas or New Balance. I am thinking of trying a pair of Asics.

I just got the New Balance 1223's. If I don't like them I think I am going to try the Asics Kayana(sp) I think.

4 full pages left to thread #3.  That has to be some sort of challenge record.  And we didn't have Jules around for 4 days 2 weeks in a row.

Hey she must still be sleeping - Jules wake up

I was on a team that made it to 4 pages earlier in the year.  And I heard that the original Nibbs, which started as a challenge team, made it to 5 or possibly more.

skrtrnr - 2009-10-15 2:27 PM oh well, i might not be the sharpest crayon in the box...but manohman i sure do have the coolest HALLOWEENY SOCKS that make me spin real fast.

Asics all the way for me

funny that is wnat I meant!!! silly me! I know what I run in! Asic Gels but they are just recently discontinued! so guess I have to go get on that new fangled machine thingy again!!! and hoping they are RIGHT ON again! but that these are a little less expensive! I am due a new pair. My Newtons I purchased at the IMAZ and when I run short distances Im ok..but longer seems to give me really sore shins..so i wear them more for walking or when I know I will be on my feet for hours...and I cant tell you how many people love the BRIGHT pink tennis! and bright is an understatement here! haha

by the way great picture of you...and did he ever throw you the football?

and which brings me to my second question of the day.....is football your middle name Bill???

No he never did.

Football is my son's and I connection right now so since he is 11 I will take it while it lasts because I know it won't be long.

Pretty soon it will be girls and all that other stuff

Thanks for the comment Jules - you should have seen me 3 miles later cramping and walking and praying for a ride to the finish

heck yeah...football would be my first, middle, confirmation and last name...oh and if married - that one, too! I love seeing parents out playing in the front  yard with thier midgets! nothing better! People should understand the house will not fall down if you do not dust or clean...but the kids grow up soooooooooo quickly that it is soooooooo key to spend any and ALLL time you can with them...if it be football, dolls, reading, crafts, baking....and they do remember, too! mine is constantly bringing up how she misses this or that as a child! sooooooooooo dont you change a thing! keep on a keeping on, Bill! and hey, who knows maybe you  have a BIG football star on your hands! future NFL-er!

and that picture would have never told that ending - you look fresh and fast!!

speaking of time with our family - we (my immediate) family built a basement under our house. I was maybe in the 2nd grade....we would rush home...get to crawl about under the house (I find this disgustin now..but then it was fun) and we would haul out dirt by the bucket full...dump it in the garage...we would then haul it out to the end of the driveway by means of our red ryder wagon...and dump it for people who need dirt or fill....by the time we finished digging/and bricking this basement...it held a bar, two bunk beds, a pool table, a wall of closets for storage....and hours and hours of fun for us kids! plus we were sooo proud that we built it our selves!

btw my grandaddy was a BIG home builder so of course he was getting the permits and giving us directions...and he did have to have someone come in and install beams to support the house above...but the rest was done by our family!!! but we moved and now someone else is enjoying our game room! or I hope they are!!!
