Subject: Long Bay HIM - Huntington State Park10 - 11- 09
Anybody know how well this race was pulled off this year??  The race isnt until tommorow, but I will be on the road and unable to post this. 

I debated it for this year but was worried about it with it being a first year race but on by an unknown (to me) race director or race production.  Just curious if the race went off good , bad, or ugly because this is a dream location for me (I vacation as much as I can at Pawley's Island as much as I can during the summer and at Charleston as much as I can fall . winter / spring. 

I am actually in Charleston this weekend (race weekend) and the race is tomorrow (about 45 min north on Hwy 17), but the DW doesn't really want to go an hour (each way) out of the way to watch a race.

Does anyone know the story here?  I want to do 2-3 HIMs next year, and this was originally going to be an option, but honestly it appears to be totally disorganized.  I know that they changed the date of the race at some point.  The website is pretty clearly a 'work in progress' (and some parts of it just don't work), and then they cancel, with no explanation (that I can find) on their web site.  And it looks like the park where it's happening is not totally on board -- they are charging an entry fee to the park.  I want to support local races, but I have to admit that none of this exactly inspires confidence.
