I've got a pair of R3s that are...well, they smell like the Cloverfield Monster's colon. Obviously I can't stick them in a washing machine & there aren't any washing instructions on the tags, anybody have any suggestions?

I wash my cycling shoes in the dish washer.  Just set it so that it does air dry (no heat) and you will be fine.

I wash bike shoes in dishwasher on top rack with dish soap w/o anything else with the tongue open as far as possible. Remove inserts before you wash them but I wash my inserts as well.

Before the dry cycle I take them out, put newspapers in them to soak up water, then put them on my boot drier to dry out.

I've done it for a couple years with the same pairs of bike shoes. Makes them smell much nicer.

I have three pairs of bike shoes and think I probably should do them all together...tri, road and mtb shoes.

Washing machine > dishwasher. Tried 'em both, washing machine is much better.

Just take the cleats off. Or tape the cleat covers on, either one.

Thanks for posting Kathy.  I started doing this after you posted the protocol in another thread.

I like the dishwasher method as well. The washing machine clunks with shoes in it.
