You have some good runs under your belt and it is flat so it should be fun.

My first marathon ever and elected to do the whole thing.  Ran 13 miles last night up hill and feel a little sore today.  We probably have a little advantage living here as we can run the actual course.

Remember everyone coming here from out of town.  Vegas is a bowl.  It is flat in the middle and surrounded by mountains.  So there is a little incline, even though everyone says its a flat course.

You all will love running on the strip.

I am doing a quick 5k on the Saturday before, as Vegas is trying to get into the Ginniss Book of World Records for the most Santa's running.

See you in the corrals.

P.S.:  if you see me tossing my cookies on the course don't get too close as it might be coming out both ends.

Hello from Wisconsin.  My bright idea for a 40th bday present to my hubby and myself was a trip to Vegas and hey, there's a marathon.  Let's sign up.   DUH!!!  Well, after doing two, and my only two, mary's this year, I decided to drop to the half.  My better half (cweninger) is doing the full.  There's actually a group of us coming out for the fun (bscharff and schmize).  Look for the donkey jerseys and give us a big EEEEAAAWWW, when you see us.  You better have some fantastic weather waiting for us.

Oh, anyone dressing in Elvis costumes?

Thought about it but I am running a 5k in Santa outfit the day before.  Vegas is going for the Ginness record if you are here on that Saturday come on for that too.

By the way on the last Email I got from them they said to bring "confirmation and ID" for package pick up.  I signed up so long ago that I am not sure what "Confirmation" they are talking about.  Did they email something?

We will need to find a place to meet for a few minutes maybe on Friday during package pickup or something.  Looks like there will be at least 10 of us.

Coming out from IL on Saturday before with a couple friends.  Was supposed to me my 1st but injury in August derailed me by 6 weeks so dropped to the 1/2.  Staying at Luxor through Tuesday and friends are leaving Monday so either be doing well in casino or drinking at the bar on Monday night.  Would love to get together with any BT'ers staying Monday night.

Hey guys! I have a question for the locals.. I was wondering what you guys were planning on wearing for the race? I am not sure how drastically the weather will change during the marathon, so I was wondering if you guys had some input?

Thanks

Last year I did the Santa Run the day before and it was cold as hell until is started running and then I was quite hot. I was in full sweats up until the start of a 5K

It's pretty cold here in the morning (45ish), but warms up quite well... what I recommend is throw-away layers - if you have cheap gloves, cheap sweats, you can wear them the first couple of miles and when you get warm, shed them... you can leave them along the route or at an aid station... everything gets donated to charity.  There are usually some cheap clothing/gloves for sale at the expo the day before...

Enjoy your visit
