Army vet - Somalia '93-'94 and Iraq '04 - '05, currently serving in the Air National Guard in NY.

I would say most veterans don't need to be reminded of what today means but it's nice to know others remember what the military does everday, usually far from home.  Veteran's day is a day to thank both current and former vets, not an excuse to have a sale on cars or DVD players.

Gratitude to all past present and future veterans, in every branch of service, at home and abroad, through conflict and in peacetime. A solemn prayer and a hearty toast to all you've done, and continue to stand for.  Thank you!

My great grandfather served in WWI.

My grandfather served in WWII and landed on one of the beaches in Normandy.  A true hero in our family.

My father served 2 tours, 1 in Nam and 1 in Germany.  He was in Nam during the Tet.

My wife's great grandfather was an Admiral in the Navy during WWII.

Her Uncle was Special Ops in Nam.

My best friend, I have known since I was 6, served in Kosovo, Afganistan and Iraq as MI for the Army.

To those that have gone before, you will not be forgotten.

To those that are here with us today that have served or are serving, our eternal gratitude.

To those that are to come, you are our future and thank you in advance.

Thank you for starting this thread.  My dad, uncles, and both grandfathers are vets.  I will never understand all that they have been through, but I will continually be thankful for it.

Tom Worrell - USMC - Viet Nam KIA (Silver Star)
Jeremy Reilly - USMC 3 tours Iraq - Parris Island
Jeff Reilly - USMCR - Ohio
Michael Denlis - USMC - Camp Lejuene (cruise)
Dennis Caldwell - USA Okinawa WWII (Bronze Star)

Just a few.  All but the first is family and I couldn't be happier to live in a country where so many will fight and die so I can live free.  While these names are but a few they represent the hundreds of thousands who lay it ALL on the line, everyday, for better or worse for each and every one of us.

You all are Hero's!!!

This was a tribute to all the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen who lost their lives during the official war on terror.  I posted these crosses in my yard, 1 for every 5 members of the services that dies in the line of duty during the "official" war.  Sadly I was running out of space to display these crosses and I stopped after the war officially ended.

This was a small way I wanted to show our heroes my support.  I don't want to diminish the sacrifice of those who have died since the display ended because they too died in our stead and many continue to do so.

Thank You!

Thanks to our Allies who have risked it all too.  Their service is appreciated and their lives have not been lost in vain!
