I'd like a copy of the DVD as well if anyone makes one. Here's the tat, not too big down on the ankle.

if you have an off air antenna (rabbit ears) you can get the feed on one of the sub channels of your local. Mine is 5-3 if that helps. I also have directv.

I'm still thinking about a tattoo as well, but I don't want just the mdot logo.  I want that incorporated into something else.  I've got some ideas but need to get someone to draw them up.  We'll see.  It may or may not happen and I'll be ok either way.

I jumped on the tattoo bandwagon Laughing got it a couple of weeks ago.

Had read alot of the different opinions both for and against, but took to heart one which said that "you should not get an ironman tattoo unless you plan on doing an Ironman event at least every 5 years" so by getting the tattoo I am making that committment to myself.

I played about with a few ideas, one was to use Kanji (Japanese) symbols, there were none for "Ironman" but I could get "Iron" "Man" - I decided against when the lady at the tattoo parlour said "of course it could mean "metal worker" Laughing

So I had the attached drawn up - as I was being tattoo'ed, I very young newly wed couple came in and wanted to get tattoo'ed, they each wanted a small dog to represent "the hair of the dog" - they'd been partying the evening before - so I'm thinking I got up @ 4:30 or earlier most mornings for 6 months, swam, biked and ran countless miles, yadda, yadda, yadda, & they got hammered! go figureLaughing

Anyways hopefully the image attaches.

I got this one after my first in LP which is also known as IMUSA.  I actually need to get it darkened in a couple of spots but between swimming and wanting to give blood I keep putting it off.

also very nice tatt's  still going to wait until after Louisville.  There will be no pinched nerve and I'll get the event I'm looking for. Smile

btw... it's cold here.  makes it easy to pull the trigger on the treadmill,  narrowed it down to the Sole F85.  It seems to come highly rated, plus it'll help me with speed and endurance over the winter months which is typically just time in the shoes for me.

Just watched the race on US at 6:00. It was cool watching the coverage of the event, but from my perspective disappointing. They really focused the majority of the coverage on the pros and whomever was in the top 5 for men and women during the race. There was very little coverage or even air time for the age groupers... even just general footage of the rest of the field during the race was really light. Almost no night-time coverage.

Jen DiCarlo, great news for you though, as they highlighted your finish and called out your name on the screen and that you trained for the event while stationed in Iraq! Congrats! I hope you get a copy of the show. What sucked for me was that I finished 10 seconds ahead of you, and they just edited the coverage to cut me out... they could've left about 3 seconds of film in there to show me walking away from the finish line with my "catcher", who you can see his shoulder in the footage before Jen crossed the line... so bummed.

Oh well, I know I was there! Cool

congrats again to all on this thread who finished! It's been an awesome experience and I'm very fortunate to have had your support! Thanks.

Regards,
Dave

I've never done anything like this before so I'm clueless as to what to "charge?"

They guy making it for me is asking me for $10, and I thought that sounded fair.  This of course would cover the dvd, shipping etc. Does this sound fair or too high?

Ten bucks sounds great. I like the Asian inspired version of the mdot very cool. I figured if I ever make it to Hawaii I'd get the islands tattooed below the mdot.

OK, I know this is way off topic for some of you now, but this is after all THE BEST group to ask... those of you who stayed at Laketown Wharf this year - what did you think of it?
I may have to rent two units somewhere, but with Sunbird, Shores and this one close together, I figure I can manage that.
Thanks in advance, and WHEN I get this "Ironman thing" done next November, you can see I already have the tat design...

I stayed at Laketown Wharf.  I thought it was great,  very close to transition,  not right on the beach but just accross the road and I had a great view of it from the balcony. It also had a fully equipped kitchen, which was important to me.  Should I race Florida again I would stay there again.
