Get married. That will solve your problem. LOL

LOL

Someone told me once;

Put a quarter in a jar every time you and your girlfriend have sex before you get married.  Once you get married take one quarter out every time you have sex.  You'll never be broke!

rstocks3 - 2009-11-25 7:58 AM I love my wife's response when all the stars line up and there is a moment that the kids, horses, chores, etc. aren't an issue and it does finally happen she says "I thought you were an IRONMAN!".

Bob, you just made me spit out my coffee all over the keyboard!  Well played, my friend!

First of all it's the OFF season, yes???  It's not like she's keeping you up late the night before a race.

My husband and I are both training for a half right now and that is by far the longest distance either of us has ever raced so it really is training.  However, the moment training gets in the way of sex is the moment we need to re-evaluate.  Training will always be there, sex may not.  We have been married 9 years and have 5 kids and although it is something a lot of folks complain about (including this thread) we have made sex a priority.

I say enjoy this time, it is important and may not last.  So you get to training a little late, not a huge deal.

Our only issue is I run better right after sex and my husband not so much - LOL

So...

My new "triathlon" body has been lucky enough to pick up a long time friend and now girl-friend. I'm finding it hard to get to sleep early (9-9.30pm I usually start to doze off).

My girlfriend is a swimmer so she gets up early too but I seem to need a bit more sleep than she does. I get up at 5am to train most weekdays but have been so tired from staying up a bit later that my training is suffering.

Any ideas?

Here's an idea....
stop ur bitchin'!!

I go on 4-6 hours of sleep and it has nothing to do with the "new girlfriend-great sex" stuff.... enjoy it while it lasts!!!!!!!!!!!!

This topic seems to keep coming up lately. Must be the winter months

Anyway. Yeah..I really can't see the issue here. The day I start pulling back on sex because its hurting my training is the day I re-evaluate my priorities. Remember: unless you are going pro any time soon, its just a sport! (with regards to triathlon, not sex )

Weak dude, just weak.  Married 7 years, 5, 4, 2 year olds, two new careers, training for IM #3 and the lovin' never takes a back seat.  Either make time now or you'll be "pulling" your hair out later....

Priority check man.As far as I'm concerned, I will drop anything I'm doing to have sex with my wife. Man up before someone else does and takes your place.Do you really care that much about triathlon? wow. Are you going to be a pro? From one dude to another, if I was told pick between sex and triathlon....guess which one wins.

If you can't handle late night sex and triathlon training, the answer is clear.  Give up triathlon training.  If you have enough sex, you'll stay in shape anyway.

Sounds to me like you just need to tell her she is going to have to make some adjustments in her schedule to be more accommodating to your needs.

Some foods can depress a woman's sex drive.  You could in theory cut down her desire by feeding her specific foods.
Among the known food types, wedding cake is the most effective in cutting down libido.

OP - try working 2 jobs (3 ~ 14hr days (M/W/Th) and training...   You need to acclimate your self to functioning effectively on less sleep!  Sleep is overated anyway.... "you'll get all you need when your dead"   'Pizza' makes you a better Triathlete!  Beer & 'pizza' makes you a faster triathlete!

just treat it like a race, start easy and finish strong.

what i like to do is get a proper stretch and a warmup run or possibly get on the trainer.  this way the HR is already up and I am ready to go.

Perhaps you need to add sex into your training plan?

You don't have kids, are newly going out, you can have sex any time you are together..it shouldn't be that hard to figure out...we have 5 kids and my husband travels so we have creativity down pat...work on it!

I think perhaps he just posted this to get everyone talking about how good he has it and of course most folks like to talk about sex. It really isn't all that difficult is it?

Even if you're just a boring, old-fashioned traditionalist, you should still be getting a good ab workout.

I always use the theory that after sex the quality of sleep is better so the quantity isn't as important.  Though I really liked the long ride on the weekend comment.

If this is a serious question - priorities, my man, priorities.
