I can imagine how attractive they are. Hang in there kid the rest of your life is a loooong time and things can change.

I thought compression stockings were all the rage now.  Everyone is wearing them.  (I don't mean that sarcastically.)  I agree they look really stupid, but you see lots of them.

My training compression socks are ok- look like your regular black knee high things but unfortunately the medical ones are horrible- they're skin colour and look like thick and very very old fashion tights. They're like something women wore at the end of 19th century or even worse. And all those moments that I was starving to feel better about myself thanks to training etc have vanished completly. I know people have much greater tragedies to deal with on a daily basis than compression stockings and I hope I dont sound shallow complaining about it.

Absolutely not, in no way are you shallow for being upset about having to wear these ghastly things; I've had to wear them after surgery and I know how horrible they are.  I would be gutted if I had to wear them too.  Can you get away with wearing your training ones instead?  I have a friend who has to wear them and she dyed her's black and wears normal socks over them whenever possible.  I really feel for you and, please, don't feel bad about complaining.

Thanks Daisy! I have a review with my doc in a few months so I'll check with him if I can wear my training socks maybe half the time or so. I can put mu socks over the stockings now (at least my feet are warm) and kinda forget that I'm wearing them but I'm dreading spring and summer - I think I'm gonna start praying for cold and rain all year round. Thanks again for your support.

On a positive note I went for my first run outside today (that since July and the whole PE business) - did 3,27k in 22mins which is much better than my treadmill runs but I guess that's because I had a running partner. Anyway, yay!!!

Good job Ceade. Even if you were complaining that is kind of what we are here for. Whine to us so the people around you don't ask if you want cheese.

Of course not! We do get our 7 days of scorching hot weather every summer

I wondered where my scorching hot weather went for 7 days every year..

Yup, it goes to Ireland. Mind you now despite using sun cream factor 30 I always manage to miss a spot and end up somewhat sun burnt. So for the remaining 6 days of summer I cover myself up completly...

And scorching hot means what... 80F?  I actually do recall some delightful July days on the west coast where I only needed a windbreaker at mid-day... and it is a lovely country, especially in the warm pubs on a cold night with lots of good tunes!

I know how wonderful it is to see a new (and lower) number there in the middle.  Congrats on the "4" in the middle.  And keep on eating clean. 

Thank's. This has been the hardest thing I  have ever done. Well, besides learning to swim freestyle. : ) I have been running on the treadmill at the YMCA because of the the poor weather. I get so frustrated looking next to me and seeing someone obvoiusly overweight "walking" on the treadmill reading a People Magazine. I want to scream IT AIN"T GOING TO WORK!

Eating clean is ALWAYS the biggest challenge.

I'd say you've seen the best of Ireland so but there's a few more places worth visiting like Galway (it has a great atmosphere), Dingle, Aran Islands and Co. Kerry (especially Ring of Kerry route). Glad you enjoyed Limerick - not many people do and I'd guess the pub you went to was Nancy Blake's (or Dolan's). A friend of mine here in UL is researching Irish music so I'm sure he could recommend some musically suitable places to visit if you're stick for ideas. Go Ireland! And leprechauns naturally!
