Comments: Seeded myself about 15 - 20 feet from the front. I didn't hear the start but took off when the crowd started moving. First 3/4 of a mile I focused on not getting swept into going out too hard, which with the crowd was not difficult. Actually it was tougher to get going. After that I just kept trying to up the pace to reach my goal of breaking 23 minutes. Pounded out the next couple of miles until we turned back onto Winton and headed towards the finish. I sprinted the last .2 or so and went through the arch looking at it being close to beating 23:00. I figured 22:59 but when the official results came out it was exactly 23:00. Oh well, still a 44 second PR from 2 months ago! I'll take it! What would you do differently?: I probably could think of many opportunity to find the couple of seconds to put me under 23, but it is a good PR so why beat myself up! The marathon plan has so far given me 2 5K PR's and a 10K PR! Nothing I would do differently with my training! Post race
Warm down: Jogged over to the car to change shirts and put on some long pants then jogged back to the finish to wait for Dudley and Y. Dudley was helping Y to a huge PR!!! Good for her! We then went over to Panera Bread to meet Marmadaddy for breakfast. It was fun spending time with good friends! What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm good here! Breakfast and coffee, then I went and picked up Dudley and Yvonne. Packet pickup was done Friday so all we had to do when we got to the race was get our chip and hit the rest room!
Dudley and I ran about half a mile with some pickups.
