Subject: Upgrading trainer worth it?
I have a Blackburn Mag trainer that is right at one year old.  Mostly used it for low intensity time in the saddle type workouts or recovery rides.  I plan on using the trainer for more focused workouts this season, so I'm wondering if upgrading to something like a Fluid 2 would be worth the net cost of $250 or so?  I'm thinking the reduced noise level might be worth it alone, but how much better is the feel, etc. ?  Thanks!!

I used to have the Blackburn Mag trainer and replaced it with a Fluid2. To me, the additional cost was more than worth it! The big difference is the progressive increase in resistance you get on a fluid trainer (basically emulating riding on the road).

For recovery riding, I wouldn't replace the trainer, but if you do interval work, specially longer intervals, then the Fluid is awesome!
