Go DAD!!!

Sue - no need to tell the rest of the story....  LOL

At this point I am not sure how late I'll stay, the rest of my family is not so much into this other than cheering for me :-(
Let's see how it goes.  I am trying to be there for Meek & Mighty (spectator).

Anyone staying at this Marriott hotel
  • 12600 Roosevelt Boulevard
  • St. Petersburg, Florida 33716 USA
  • Phone:  1-727-572-7800
  • My wife and I are trying to avoid taking two cars and we have two young children.  My wave is late, and I need to be there early to set up in transition and she'll need the car to bring the kids (or take a cab).  I'm either looking for a lift early in the am or suggestions on a better way to get there.  First time at St Anthonys for me so I am not too sure about availability of cabs, shuttles and dont want to be late.

I'm more worried about parking than wetsuit legal. I'm thinking about parking at Derby Lane and taking a cab to T-1. Wifey can pick me up after race with bike and take me back.

Anyone have any ideas, parking garage, shuttle from some where?

from Derby lane you might as well ride, but if you still go for the cab, might as well pickup the previous logger and share the ride.

If your going to park somewhere try the Home Depot or Lowes off 22nd Ave. N. But make sure you call the cab ahead of time so your not waiting for them. Should only be a $8.00 cab ride as my friend lives close by and when we cab it home from downtown thats what we pay.  If your staying at the Hotel, see if their shutlle will bring you down to the event.

Im going to run into the same issue with my wife and kid.  There really isnt a bunch of parking nearby as there will be 4000 additional cars ttying to park.  On the website they do address parking/shuttles.  For those that havent been to St. Pete they actually do have some decent event shuttle locations and scheudules.

Mimir, et al:  safe travels and good luck!

    -  I am not sure about dinner but I am in for the 3PM OWS on Saturday.  See ya'll at SPA Beach halfway over The Pier.  I will be there (racking and visiting expo) much earlier.  Look for the guy with shaved legs (wait: that isn't gonna work this time - LOL)  and I dont have any BT gear.  Hopefully I will be able to recognize a face or two.

Not at all...clicked it with my phone, so I can't promise the quality is good

I will not be attending the dinner....I tend to avoid people the night before a race after contracting the flu the night before a mary.  NOT FUN!  LOL.  I'm sure I"ll bump in to a few of you about town though.  Good luck to everyone and have fun

Haa haa! I'm just doing Meek n Mighty, not even a sprint distance - and I didn't exactly train much at all (still scared to sit on a bike after that whole birth thing - uhoh!)
You wont need to see baby pics cause baby will be with us the entire time - should make for interesting times

Are you going to be at Carrabbas?
PS-Are you guys doing a swim on Saturday, Matt might want to join in (he's doing Elite Amatuer this year cause he got a really good time at Longleaf)

Typically not much.  If the wind kicks up it can be wavey.  Its a pretty protected cove

Latest forecast says winds out of the SW.  This means the swim *should* be pretty calm as the land and the pier will be protecting the inlet.
