For the various distances, what is the best water bottle / liquid nutrition set up. I normally carry one 3 hour bottle of infinite, one water bottle and also use an aero drink for a half distance but would like to drop either the aero bottle or the water bottle. I'm open to a rear mounted system if it makes sense. For a sprint, just the aero bottle. Olympic is an aero bottle and a water bottle. Thanks....Jason

for all racing so far up to Half ironman, and training under 1:30, just one frame mounted bottle, for longer training bottles go in the jersey pocket as needed. normally just one there, one frame, and will refill as needed.

in the longer races i just exchange bottles, no need for me to carry more than one.

Sprint - only aero bottle
Olympic Aero bottle and maybe a frame bottle if it is hot

1/2 and full
In my 2 IM I have used a aero bottle and 1 -32oz bottle with all my calories from infinite. This works well but I have to stop at every aide station and get a bottle of water to dump in the aero bottle.

I was just talking to a friend that I think it would be better if you used the aero bottle and nutrition bottle on the frame then had a rear saddle cage with 2 bottle of water because then you would only have to stop every 3rd station. The time it takes to slow down get in traffic grab a bottle and get out of traffic and back to speed is more time then you would lose by having the extra drag and weight of 2 additional bottles.

How much time would you save by skipping an aide station?

This sounds like a good field test, maybe I am looking to much into this.

I usually go one on the frame, one "torpedo" (I like the way it keeps my hands cool haha)
