Subject: Darn kids....who touched my stuff?!?!
So...I go to put the bike on the trainer this morning.  First time this winter.  Pump up the tires, move the mat etc so I can see the TV, go to put the bike on...huh?  where is the special axle that replaces the one on your bike.  I finally locate it... not where I left it...missing the two springs.  ARGGG!  WHO TOUCHED THIS!?!?!  Not me.  Not me.  Hmmm... highly suspicious.  And my kids are older and should know better than to mess with mommy's training stuff.  Makes her very cranky.

So here's my question.  Can you still use the trainer without the springs on the axle ( hope that's the correct term).  I'm going to see how to get replacement parts.

Yes the spring just spread the nuts and lever out to allow you to pull the wheel off. You can use the one off the other spindle too.

I can relate. I left my bike on the trainer in the basement a few days ago (we have finished and unfinished portions). The bike was in front of the TV on the finshed side instead of put away on the unfinished side per Mrs.Bananatoes frequent requests. The kids (8,5,2) were playing in the basement. I was in the kitchen getting a bike and I hear a whole bunch of yelling start up. I go down and find the two year old covered in grease, the chain off the gears and the older kids poitning fingers at each other. They also somehow managed to mess up the tension on the derailleurs so my shifting was all jacked up. Mrs.Bananatoes is a smart lady.

You can use springs from the one you remove and swap out.

This almost makes me happy I don't have room for a trainer.

the thing that cracks me up most about this is "I was in the kitchen getting a bike"

I've had to keep my bike in the kitchen before.  I didn't find that to be unusual at all. Wink
