Anyone here have, or used, an Endless Pool? It looks to be a treadmill for swimming and am curious about feedback. See http://www.endlesspools.com/main.htmlfor details. We are going to be getting a pool (small) in the fall and this looks like the ticket if I could convince my wife!

I've never used one but saw them at a recent tri exhibition and they looked great - loads of people were just jumping in and swimming with no problems. Thought they were quite pricey though.....

I used one at a friend's place. It sounded a little scary - I thought I'd feel like I was being swept away - but you can adjust it to your speed and it was easy to use. I liked it, but how can you pass up foot fungi, excessive chlorine, little kids peeing, showering in public, surly lifeguards, and all the other joys of the public pool??

I just got a catalog. They're like $18,000! They're very expensive but compact and easy to use so I hear.

Yikes! Well, that's gonna go low on my priority list!! Although, they are sooo pretty!

$18,000?? Believe it or not, that's just a few dollars shy of my yearly income!! (Part-time student, part-time intern (read volunteer), part time office job) I think my monthly contribution to the Y is all I'm capable of!

I was pricing various configurations today on their website, see http://www.endlesspools.com/plan/plan_customize.asp. Something like 19K for the bare-bones version to about 28k for biggest version with all the bells and whistles. I live in FL so the "bird Cage" is required for bug free enjoyment for an extra 5-7k. A standerd pool installed here in FL for about the same size as the largest Endless pool runs about 26k total, so I'm looking at 7k more for the EP the way I'd like it.

Don,

I am an owner of an endless pool. Where I live in northern Ct. it is a real nice luxury. We opted to partially sink ours in the ground and ordered it with a custom depth. First, the people at Endlesss are great to work with and the support is excellent. I swim daily and throughly enjoy the pool. Particulalry this past January with avg temps of 15 degrees..The flow control gauge mounted at the front of the pool provides easy control of the water speed but it is surprisingly adjustable. Maintenance is really minimal and starting off the day with a swim is a great start. If you can do it I would say go for it. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask..

good luck ..seth

Hi Seth, 1st post really? If so welcome! I've been here 7wks and its a great forum.

Thanks for the FB. Did you install it yourself or contract it out? If you contracted it out, about how much was that? If I went this route it would be placed as much in the ground as possible but I have to be careful about the high water table here in the summer, something I would need to discuss with them.

Yes first post Thanks..been lurking for a few months..LOL..While they provide detailed video and written instruction on installation it is alot more difficult than changing a flat tire or basic bike wrenching. I hired someone to construct the pool and do the basic plumbing. The costs for installation can be meaningful say a few thousand dollars + you will need to pour a concrete slab for the pool to sit on and then they charge delivery of the pool. It is certainlly an indulgence in my view as the cost is very significant but well worth the investment. In fact itis 4:30 am here in CT and i am up half hour early so into the water I go ...You should call Norma at endless pools she is really helpful. By the way, they usually run specials where if you buy a pool there is a $1000 credit for any options..fyi..god luck with your decsion..
