The downtown marathon section is super-twisty.  The new start location will make a last minute pee in the park bushes more difficult.

I was thinking same thing.  Last year bathroom lines were huge and I had to run into the park and find a tree.  Hopefully they'll have plenty of port-a-pots at start line.

From an ex-Louisvillian, done the mini a fistful of time sand the marathon once, I think this is not the best decision. I understand them wanting it to end at the waterfront park but I think they could have kept the start the same. The park at the start is so nice and hitting the hills around mile three was perfect timing. Now you are going to hit the hills roughly at mile one and the crowd has not thinned out yet.

just my thoughts

not feeling to comfortable about this upcoming race. slacking on all my training this season so far. I have to step it up. I just hope I dont blow up before the half in may. trying to train smart but I am so far behind. Thats what I get for signing up for an early spring race. well, the mini will be the tell tale sign. see everyone there.........

Just set a realistic pace for mini based on your current training.  With as much training as you've done over last 2-3 years, I can't imagine the distance would be problem for you.

I had hoped to hang out with you and your family after race.  Unfortunately, Ben and Abby's soccer starts two weeks earlier this year.  I have to finish race, jump in truck, and take off for their 1st games.

Good luck folks, my training has been pretty bad this month so I hope to hit the finish without hurting myself. A nice slow 2:30 hopefully without the rain. This years shirt has to be the ugliest yet!

Agree on the shirts.  I was excited about getting tech shirt.  Disappointed when I picked it up yesterday.  I'm OK with the rain.  Hopefully no lightening.  Good luck everyone.

Congratulations to all of you who did the mini and the marathon!!  My sister did her first half so I was at the finish line watching.  Always awesome.

Had a good race despite my lack of training, liked the new course route didn't notice any log jam at the park. Karma got me on that dumb shirt I decided to wear. The screen printed borders made for an abrasive strip on the back side and caused some bleeding nips. I should have never ragged on the mighty Walmart sponsor. Fun day, great wheather!

congrats to everyone. The weather could not have been better. I truely did not take the training for this race seriously. Needless to say it got me. But, I have to move on. Taylorsville is fast approaching, I need to put some more time in to make it a good day.
Again congrats to all that participated and thank you again for all of those that cheered.

Weather was perfect, shirts were ugly and my finish was slower than I hoped but still a PR.  2:10:57

Congrats to the other finishers and thanks for those of you cheering us on at the finish.  I really needed it as I was in some serious pain.
