Comments:

might have placed in top 3 if i had gone with front group at the start. the overall winner, adam reiser, and desiree ficker took off quick. i hit first mile around 6:40 and then 6:30 and then proceeded to slide into a pack of 4 and just drop mile after mile between 6min and 6:20 depending on hills. at mile 5 took a gel and another around mile 13. took water at all stops (1.5 miles apart) but it was usually frozen due to temps outside. around mile 6 will drop one guy and by mile 8 i dropped the other 2 guys and caught another. i dropped him quickly and then worked alone. at mile 11 i was caught my derrick williamson who flew by me and then i ran solo the rest of the way. in the last 5 miles i could see i was gaining on reiser and ficker but i didnt have the legs to run hard and catch them. i had one guy i dropped earlier stay on my heels the last 10miles but i managed to keep him at bay with some pickups going down hills. the last 5miles were rough and the last 3 were really rough. my breathing seemed effortless (except a few hills that i felt) but the legs just dont have the miles in them to push the low 6min pace the whole way. the last 3 miles i fought to hold 6:30. my hammys and feet were really sore. overall happy with the race. 1 wanted 2:10 and top 10. i ended up with 2:08 and top 5. i will take it!!!!
What would you do differently?:

go a little faster at the start.
Post race

Another smokin' fast race.

Great job meeting your goals and being competitive against a fast field.

A bit more run training mileage and you'll be really good.
