Big news for me...after more than a year of swimming I finally did 100 yards in less than 2 minutes...1:54 to be exact!  Now...to be able to do that for 750 meters!

Great job!  I bet within 3 months you will be doing 100 yards in less than 1:45.  Have you done anything different with your stroke to improve your time?  Or, was it just more time in the water?

Very recently I have been focusing a lot more on my strokes/form/breathing..everything really...hopefully I will continue to see improvements!

Congrats!  That is a huge milestone.  You'll see your times continue to drop as you work on the form and develop more endurance.  Keep it up!

Grats, 2 minutes a mile is a pretty big mark,  I've been stuck in that range (1:50-2:00) for months now...

Woo hoo!  Congrats!!

Now if you feel you have your technique solid enough, and you really want to improve, start doing sets.  After a warm up and some stretching, do something like 10x100 on 2:15-2:25.  The goal is to hold the same swim time on every one, or even get faster toward the end of the set.  You should get 15-20 seconds rest between each one.

Keep up the great work!!

There are very few milestones that made me feel better than breaking the 2:00 barrier. Great work.

congrats!

When I first read the title my mind went to running for some reason with the reaction of... "2 minutes for 100 yards?... that's SLOOOOOOOW!!!!!!  I wonder if they are recovering from an accident and learning to walk again".  Swimming makes much more sense

Nice job! Just curious, but did you time yourself when you first started?

Unfortunately when I first started I couldn't swim more than 25 yards without stopping!  When I first started being able to do 100 yards non-stop my time was ~2:45...somewhere around there.

Keep up the good work.  I just started swimming last year and clocked in at 2:26 for 100yds at the beginning of the summer.  I joined a masters team shortly after that and I recently swam a 1:38.  What I'm saying is, the times come down fast once it all comes together.  I just wish I could get sub 1:00 like most of the swimmers on my masters team.
