I'll try to answer some of the questions asked.  As far as a wetsuit goes, wear it.  If you have to ask if people wear them at a sprint then wear it.  This indicates to me you have not done a lot of swimming in tri's.  A wetsuit will help with floating but to me the biggest factor for wearing it is safety.  If you get panicked, tired or dissorientated you can just stop swimming, take a deep breath and float.  After three years of doing the half I am switching down to the sprint this year and I plan on wearing my full suit if they are allowed.  Unless it takes you a really long time to take it off they are always worth wearing.  The lake has always been very weed free when I have done this race.  My 14 year-old daughter is a freak about weeds and she had no problem doing the sprint last year.  The packet pick-up can be a bit of a cluster if you are late arriving so the earlier the better.  Nice thing about this race is you do have a designated space in the transition area.  Well, if you like that kind of thing anyway.  One bit of advice...bring extra toilet paper!  As stated the porta potties are a little under numbered and I know they ran out of essentials last year.  TIP to newbies.  Kelly and I always stop at a local gas station before hitting the race scene.  If you can avoid the porta potties, by all means do.

How will we know it's you?  Will you be wearing the chicken (or whatever animal it was) suit again?  

Went to packet pick-up and practiced the sprint swim.  I don't know actual water temps, but there were some cooler spots.  Felt very comfortable in my sleeveless wetsuit, and would bet a full sleeved suit would have been nice in those chilly spots.
I'm curious to see how I do getting from the water to T1, as I'm always a little dizzy standing up out of the swim.  Tackling the hill to get to my bike might be comical.

I swam at the 11:00 swim this morning and the water was fine.  I did the whole swim loop for the sprint in my full sleeve suit and did not get overheated like I sometimes do.  Lakes is relatively weed free with the exception of a few floaters.  Course seemed a bit short.  See you all I switched to the sprint and now instead of being in wave 2 or 3 like I have been the last 3 years now I am in wave 25 Yucko.  Did a pre-ride with daughter today to stretch my legs and had my first crash of the year.  Yea roadrash!!  Hope to see a lot of you tomorrow.

Had a decent day today.  Unfortunately finished one place off the podium again.  Anybody else have both the bike and run course being long?  I had the run at 3.21 and the ride at 21.5.  That's fine, just a little tough to take on the ego at first glance.  Daughter Alyssa finished in first in the 14 and under category again this year.  She is all ready eye balling the competiion in the 15-19 group for next year.

I also had a good day considering a spill at mile 4 on the bike.  Too congested and I ended up running into the back of a person drifting out to the left.  If I do the race again, i'll have to sign up early or lobby for an earlier wave.  I couldn't believe how many times I came up to 3 to 4 across who appeared to be chatting or no consideration to stay right.  I also think they need to cap the registration.
