Master 2327 North Alabama | Subject: RE: What part of Alabama do you live? I did a majority of may training runs through the Highland Area and downtown in preperation for the Mercedes Half. I'm still running in the mornings over at the Mtn.Brook Y (2x per week) too, so I'm not far at all. During the day though, I'm in the Inverness area I didn't realize there were so many of us. Another guy to look up is Rogillio. He's in Madison too. |

Right now during the week I ride a trainer. I do my long rides on sat or sun. Just depends on the boss. (Wife) I think my wife and I are going to oak mountain after church on sun. Probably around 1ish. I think morty is mapping a long ride for everyone to get together and do in a couple of weeks. |

My wife and I went to Oak Mountain to ride last Saturday, although I don't ride as far when she's with me. I do most of my riding early in the morning. In the afternoons, I try to spend as much time with my little boy as possible (also, he's 5 months old, and by afternoon, his mommy needs some relief). I am taking off on Thursday to go down for the Gulf Coast. |

I'm about 30mins away (door to door) and actually ride there pretty religiously on Fri afternoons when it's a bit warmer. Right now I'm confined to the garage on the trainer, but seriously, when it's warmer, I'm out at Oak Mtn trying to beat those hills into submission... That and the Vulcan Tri rides on Tues pm once the time change shifts. This is awesome that there are so many of us close together! |

I was told that I'd want to keep my road bike and only ride my tri bike in races, but I got rid of the Trek because my Cervelo is so comfortable and fast that I ride it all the time. If people don't want to ride with someone on their tri bike, it's probably because they don't want to be passed. |

Then when you're alone, you go aero, and when your in the pack that doesn't trust you, you go roadie That and the bosswoman has denied my tri bike for now... And I only know of one real group that doesn't approve of the aero bars, but that's it. Otherwise, most around here don't really care. |

I need to find a decent "long ride" type group once things warm up. I have been a member of that club for a while and haven't any of those folks.
