Subject: Tooth Implant
Have any of you out there had a tooth implant? I'm scheduled to have one on July 18th and I want to do an Oly Tri on July 30th. I'm worried if the pain/healing are going to cut into my training and/or race? Your thoughts are appreciated.

I have a dental implant and I'm very happy w/it. I've got mine two years ago, and my memory is a bit hazy, but my best recollection was that that the pain/disomfort were minimal. Your only issue is going to be avoiding blows to your mouth from other swimmers, or gritting your teeth while you're straining. Force on the implant can displace it.
