I've heard that Lake dr. is a great route to ride out of downtown.  How far north can you go?  Also how far can you go north before finding some farm type roads to ride?

Its really the only way to go from downtown to get out of the city safely. Take it all the way through fox point where it will curve left (west) and become brown deer rd. Continue on this up the hill until you hit the light where it intersects North Port Washington Rd and turn right. Take Port Washington until you hit lake rd again by the dog park and take that to the right again. Keep following Lake Dr as it zig zags along the shoreline. After the dog park it gets pretty farmy and quiet until you get to port washington and then if you ride through Port it gets even more farmy. Its a great way to ride and what I did all through school at MU. Have fun!
