Went out for a run on Saturday and had my Garmin 305 attached to my hydration pack.  I downloaded the info on Garmin Connect, and Everytrail...

VERY DIFFERENT INFO!

Any thoughts?

If you see the maps are both very similar in the routing, just distance and elevation gain are WAY OFF!

Every website seems to do post processing on the GPS data as the watch doesn't actually calculate all the summary info.  Elevation gains are really hard to compare between them as GPS has lots of noise in the elevation channel.  Some websites will include this noise in the summary, others will apply a filter to the data and then calculate the total elevation gain.
