Comments:

I have missed a lot of training for this one. I was following a 12 week plan and got sick at about week 3 for 2 weeks, and then my son was in the hospital for 2 weeks and I missed almost 4 solid weeks of training with that! Somehow, this race went well and I was 21 seconds slower than my PR (on the same course). I have no idea how that happened. Maybe if I train, I can get faster again.

I love this race. this was my 4th time running it.
What would you do differently?:

uh, train. Not get sick. Tell my son to stay out of the hospital.
Post race
Warm down:

walk around the masses of people trying to find my friends and my family.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of training, but still, I'm pretty happy

Event comments:

Post race food is the best I've ever had. I love this race.

You still had a great race even with everything going on with your son.  Medical issues with your family, especially your kids, can take a pretty heavy toll on you mentally and physically.  Considering how close you came to your PR with everything else that happened in your life leading up to it and preventing training I say it was a huge success.  Great job.

You did great! especially with the lack of training, injured quad, and sick child.  Very close to your PR!  I think the course was also a bit long.  My Garmin read 13.3 miles.

Nice job...especially considerring everything going on which made it difficult to train.  Next time, assuming nothing gets in the way of training, you will PR!

Awesome race, Cathy!  And my Garmin said 13.4- course was definitely a little long... so you definitely had a PR!
