Subject: Any update on 2006 IMFL?

Just curious to see if anyone had heard updates about IMFL next November.   Last I heard there were some rumors that it would not happen in Panama City Beach next  year.   Haven't seen anything definitive on the website yet and we are trying to decide whether or not to keep our vacation to Florida this year to watch the 2005 IMFL and register the next day.

That rumor has been hanging around for years. The race sells out in a couple of hours and the manager of the host hotel did the race last year. I don't think it is moving any time soon.

You should definately come to IMFL in November.  There's a bunch of BTers who need you to cheer us on!  AND - you could volunteer at the race and build up your IM race karma

Last rumor I heard (maybe here) was that it would be IM South Carolina next year.  who knows!?

We already have our room booked at the Boardwalk Beach Resort.   A little nervous as I've seen some less-than-complimentary reviews of the hotel posted here.  Regardless we are looking forward to cheering on all our BT friends.  It will be the first Ironman distance we've seen in person so it should be a lot of fun.

Hopefully it will be in Florida in 2006 as we were hoping to sign up.

Although the race sells out right away, it apparently is not a HUGE thing for the people of PCB.  Bottom line, is I have heard this is definetly the last PCB Ironman (2005).
