I should be there too. My Name is Brandon and I am driving a Honda Accord with a Trek Madone 5.9 strapped to the back of it. Looking forward to it. It is about an hour and half ride for me as well.

I'm about 50:50 right now.  I have to go home and have an argument a discussion with my wife (just kidding).  She's very concerned about the out-of-town guests we're expecting later that day.  How often to you all get out there to swim on the weekends?

Glad to see we will have a decent group! Bill this will be the first time we are actually doing an organized swim/bike but im sure others wont be opposed to maybe trying a weekly or biweekly thing if we can get enough support

Jason... glad to hear you say that because it's no go for me this weekend.  Wife is just too stressed about all the people we have coming over Sat afternoon.  So I'll choose to stay home in lieu of divorce papers.  But if anyone wants to do next Saturday at 7:30am, I'm definitely in for that.  I'm actually looking good for the next few weekends and want to get some OWS in before the North East tri.

I'd drop by too but I would be an hour or so late due to work.  I would make it next week if anyone is going to do it then.

So, the swim was good (thanks Jason for going slow for me).  We swam for about 45 minutes.  I tried to do the map on here to see how far we swam.  If I guessed right about the turn around based on the geography of the map, it was 1.2...but I don't think that's right (though I did swim far from straightEmbarassed).  Jason said it would have been about a mile if we went to a white marker in the water, but there was a fisherman right around it.  After we rode for about 16 miles (again, thanks for going slow!).  We didn't start swimming until 8 hoping others would show, but no one else did.  In hopes of getting more people to swim I tried to attach a map to show the location of where we started from.  I'm hoping to keep going out every other Saturday at about 7:30!

Also, sorry if we just missed anyone!

Sorry I couldn't make it this weekend.  Sounds like you had a great swim.  Anybody up for this Saturday around 7am?

Erik no problem! It was definitely nice to train with someone other than just myself! Plus training with someone faster pushes you and makes you faster!!

Water was amazing!! Felt so good to be out in the open water and just stroking along. We did about 1.3 miles and the bike ride was nice as well! Will have to search around for some more bike routes to ride to get in some good mileage!

Hopefully we can keep these up! I wont be able to do anything this weekend cause I will be in the mountains but possibly next weekend.

Hopefully we can get more people.

I'm out for this weekend as well.  I, stupidly, decided to try to bring our dryer upstairs to it's new home by myself.  Got halfway with no problem, turned to see how many more steps and something in my back gave.  I was stuck there holding the hand truck with my legs until my wife and them my friend and brother in law came to lift it the rest of the way.  Stupid move...should've just called them.  Luckily it was just a muscle injury, not a disc injury.  Went to the chiro today and will go again Weds.  For now?  Ice and liquid pain killer...

Sounds like a no-go for this weekend, but a possibility for next.  I'll post a message next week seeing if there are any takers.  I'm not yet comfortable enough in OWS to go it alone.

I'll definitely be up for that weekend.  It's 7/31 or 8/1.  I have the Steelman Oly the weekend after that!

I could come out this weekend.  The 31st is the same day as the REI garage sale, so I won't be here to swim.  Maybe on 8/1?  I'm doing the steelman as well - it should be a good time!

Actually, I can only do Sunday 8/1.  My niece's birthday party is on 7/31.  I can't miss it!  Her other birthday's have either been in Germany or Alabama!

I think I should be able to make it.  I am debating whether to swim or to bring my kayak and do safety boating (I can also track mileage with my Garmin that way).

7 AM is pretty early, but I have a motorcycle ride I want to do at noon, so I guess I won't sleep in at all this weekend!

I was just throwing out the 7am time... I'm a morning person, plus I'm leaving for vacation on Monday with the family, so I'm sure my wife wants me home sooner rather than later.  We can push it back if necessary.

I can do 8/1.  7:00 is OK for me.  It only takes about 30 minutes for me to get there.  If others need later, than later is fine, too!!

Anyone interested in adding on a 5 or 10k? There is a race about 15 minutes away on flat fast trails at 9 that same day.

I love Gring's Mill, but I think I'll pass on doing a race on Sunday (don't want to spend the $).  I'd be up for a trail run at Blue Marsh or a bike, though after the swim.  See you all at 7 on Sunday!

Hi!  I heard (and read) that there's a chance of rain.  If it's raining when I wake up (around 6) I'm gonna pass on the swim as well (sorry).   But if it's still clear when I leave at 6:30, I'll be there!
