Is this another "Bartlett type" race or is it a little less challenging than that? Noticed it was only sprint distance, although bike is a few extra miles than the norm.....

I did it last year.  A little more challenging than most of the other sprints I've done.  Swim is a little longer (1000M), bike course is quite hilly, and 2/3 of run is a trail run up and down hills.  It was fun.

It's a great event - I'll be doing it for the fourth time this year.  It is very challenging for a sprint, but nothing compared to the stories I have heard about Bartlett.  This swim is nice - calm water and seems cleaner than Tempe Town Lake.  The bike is hilly - pretty much either up or down the entire 12 miles - including a fairly steep climb the last mile up into T2.   As described above, the run is about two miles of up and down trail running, but the hills are not as steep as Saguaro Lake.  The last mile of the run is pretty much downhill into the parking lot.  It is a beautiful venue and a well run event - a lot of fun!

Nah - As you know, it's still cool in the morning.  I think it starts at 7 or 8.  You're done before it has a chance to get really hot.  You should come out - with your IMSG fitness under your belt, you will TOTALLY rock this sprint!!!

Thanks for the info. I'll be out of town that weekend for business, but I'll keep it in mind for next year.

Usually wet suit legal. I did not wear one last year since the water was pretty warm and the swim was short.  Kind of regretted that decision afterward.

I would like to come out and volunteer and cheer everyone on. Lake Pleasant isn't too far from my house.

I love this race.  The water is so much cleaner tasting than TTL.  The weather is cool but it can get pretty warm fairly quick.  This will be #3 for me and I hope for a better time than the frist two, eventhough I have had less training than before..  maybe I wont stop and view the snake this time..

Visited the course this last weekend, took in a practice swim.  The water was choppy (but there were high winds) but cleaner than Bartlett in March, and much warmer.  Had a sleeveless wetsuit and it was perfect for the conditions.  The bike course is hilly, but nothing like Bartlett's 7 mile uphill, 7 mile downhill course.  The run looks like fun, also with some hilly conditions, but the end is all downhill so everyone will look good coming to and across the finish line.  See you all there Saturday, bright and early!

Dean has signed up to do the Sprint, and I'm on the fence debating whether to do the sprint or one of the OWS. Regardless, we'll be out there!

I will be doing the sprint. I'll be in ESCKTC tri gear (modeled below from the Tempe Intl Tri 2009) so if you see a short chick in black and orange, wave!

Yeah, we really need to get ESCKTC going again. I miss the big group rides, OWS and seeing lots of black and orange at races.  And we need to recruit more newbies to bring beer!

I wanted to do this, or the OWS, but I'm broke! Grrrrrr!!!!! Too many car problems/issues this week. Besides, I found out today that I have to keep my rental car until next week. The shop found more extensive damage when they removed my bumper. I don't know if my bike would fit in this car, and I don't want to put my rack on it and risk scratching it up. Can I fast forward to another time and get this week over with, please?

Word has it that the race needs participants.  It is apparently only half-full and at risk of not being repeated next year.
