Hilly 35 miles ... good prep for Columbia... EZ option for 50 miles. Start at 8:30, at Braddock Heights Community Pool 4830 Schley Avenue Braddock Heights, MD 21714. Climb up into Gambrill Park from about 900 feet above sea level to about 1750 feet, then big descent into Middletown Valley, chip seal country farm roads along Catoctin Creek (I'll stay off the hardpack gravel in this photo) , then back to Braddock Heights. Coffee on the way at Middletown. Total climbing is about 1700 feet ... guarantee a good time.

Here's the route:

I am thinking your ride might win out over the Tour de Madison, mainly because it's free. Plus I've been wanting to get up into the Catoctins for a while. I'll see you in the morning.

PS: You said there was an easy option for 50 miles... is that 50 MORE miles?

Youngblood Shane, Jeff the Attorney, Neil the Spokes guy and me pulling up the rear ... 36 miles in about 2-1/2 hours (14.2MPH) but a LOT of 8MPH climbing plus some 47+ MPH downhills. Shane's headed off for 40 more, and I bricked out 4 mile run. Perfect freakin' weather. Great scenery and only one 5 mile stretch with traffic. I am setting up the same ride in two weeks, on Sat 30th or Sun 31st ... along with a  wetsuit pool swim (36 yard lap lanes) in the COLD Braddock Heights Community Pool.

What about that Monday the 31st? I have a wedding I'm in that Saturday so I was trying to get out for a nice ride.

It would be truly enjoyable to cross off my last bike and swim miles for the month right in front of you Scott.
