Swim
Comments: We were told--and witnessed a very strong South to North current at the start of the race, but as the tide came in the effect lessened. Yet, we were told to swim straight out and the current would carry us to the mark. Didn't happen. Lost approx 3 mins doing this. Caught a monster wave coming in, but just couldn't stay with it as long as I wanted to!! What would you do differently?: Sight more often, and swim my own race. Transition 1
Comments: Had a heck of a time getting one leg out of the wetsuit because of the size of the timing chip. Had to sit down and yank extremely hard. Lost probably 30 secs on this. What would you do differently?: Note the size of the timing chip, and consider taking it off and putting it back on!! Bike
Comments: Wanted to do well here, and went out fairly hard. Was fairly pleased with my effort, but shocked when I saw the winner in my ag was 3 mins faster!! What would you do differently?: More hill repeats. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. Ran down the wrong rack aisle, but solved that by lifting the bike over the rack and stepping over the rack. What would you do differently?: Get a better landmark for the rack. Run
Comments: Quite disapointed with my run time. Had been running much faster brick miles. Decided at the last minute to run this w/o a watch. Bad move. What would you do differently?: Wear my watch. Post race
Warm down: Walk, and drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: 1) Bad siting/navigation in the swim, 2) No idea how well I was doing in the run. Event comments: Very well organized by extremely experienced triathletes. The only thing I'd like to see next time is some sunshine!!! Last updated: 2010-05-17 12:00 AM

Typical "Breakfast" of yogurt, banana, and coffee. Road from the hotel to the start (1/4 mile). Set-up transition, and wandered down to see the pro's come in from the swim.
Basically tried to conserve energy, and sat and watched the earlier waves. Got into the water about 15 mins before my start.
