I just got a reply from fat rabbit:

Hi Brue - Unfortunately, the event has been cancelled.
A full refund will be credited back to your credit card in the next 7-10 business days.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Craig Thompson and Scott Weaver

i pulled up an email from last years event that had contact info.

i was surprised to get a reply the same day from a co. going out of business.

i talked to someone at this morning's race who said she had already received a refund - and she said she knows scott and it is not bankuptcy.

Is the Antrim race canceled as well?  That was to be my first tri.  Guess I'll have to look for something else if so.

I emailed Craig last week and his reply to me was that all 2010 races were cancelled. I also read that the Columbus Marathon in Oct has a new race director, so not really sure what happened. Komen (Tri 4 the Cure) said that they were in the dark too.

OMG! I knew that Fat Rabbit lost the Columbus Marathon - they brought in a new RD who happens to be someone I know tangentially.

But I had no idea the whole enterprise went under!

I wasn't even registered for anything of theirs this year, and I'm in shock. It was going to be my first year not doing Antrim and I was upset about missing it. This is not good for our city, really, losing a race company that put on quality events in and around Columbus.

Maybe someone else will buy the races. HFP maybe.

A few years ago they cancelled the Great Lake Escape tri and refunded most of my money back from that. But that was before they went bankrupt.
This stinks, I was looking forward to Antrum.

according to a friend of Scott weaver this is not bankruptcy but a decision to not continue the enterprise due to family changes.

i believe they will come through on refunds

Sorry, yes, that should have read "before they went out of business."

This sucks... I was a big fan of the race at Antrim. Fast course, well organized and supported. It is a sad day for C-bus triathletes for sure.

Lets hope that HFP or Ultra-fit can pick up another race in Columbus... hopefully Antrim.

Have you looked into the Wendy's Tri at Alum Creek on 6/12 and 6/13? It's a little sooner than I would like but might consider it. I just hope they still have openings!

For some of us it's the week after Deer Creek.  :/

I wish some of the TRIs were spaced out better.
