Subject: Shakes and Blender Drinks!
Just got my bike last week and have begun training for my first sprint triathlon... With that being said curious on some good smoothie recipies along with when during the day you normally drink them!  I have been doing good with my diet so far...

Still learning my body but i am on 5-6 small food intakes a day and was wanting to add a good shake for calories for one of the meals either post workout or just a meal looking for thoughts as well!

Hope you are having a great day and happy Tri'-ing!

You can pretty much put in whatever you want and it will taste good. I usually use two bananas and then any random fruit I have laying around. Post workout I may put in a little hemp protein.

Bananas + some peanut butter is pretty much amazing too.

You can always add a little bit of kale as well, it's an amazing vegetable.

I have this every morning after my workout.

1 Cup of Almond Milk or Smart Balance Milk
1 Cup of Plain Organic Yogurt (Usually stonyfield brand)
1 Tblsp Flax Seed
1 Scoop Protein Powder Vanilla
1/2 banana
~ 1/4 cup blueberries
~ 1/4 cup strawberries

Sometimes I will mix in rasberries and blackberries as well if I have them.  This drink usually comes out around 350 - 400 calories, depends on the type of milk I'm using.  Almond Milk has about 1/2 the calories of the other one.

I have this almost every day, at different times of the day. Sometimes for breakfast, other times at night after a long swim. It's awesome.

Frozen banana, cut up
Tablespoon of Peanut butter
Skim Milk
fat free plain Yogurt
Agave syrup (or whatever sweetener you use)

I never measure anything, you just have to experiment to get the right consistency. Either more liquid, or more like a milkshake.

For variety, sometimes I add other frozen fruits like strawberries, or mangos. Mangos make it taste sort of "tropical." Yum.

I'm a never measure person as well but here's what I did a couple nights ago when I got home late and didn't want a heavy dinner.  I'm going to be getting home fairly late from my summer speedwork nights so I think I might make more smoothies for dinners.  We'll see how that goes.

I frozen banana cut up
Handful of frozen mixed fruit
Handful of frozen cranberries (I buy lots when they're fresh around the holidays).
1/2 or so of low fat ricotta cheese (usually use plain nonfat yogurt but this is all I had, worked well)
1 cup or so soy milk
2 large handfuls spinach
1 scoop of whey protein

I am all about some smoothies, especially in the summer. But this is one of my favorites even though this is more of a "fall season drink" it's awesome all year around.

half a banana
~1/4 cup pumpkin puree
naturally more peanut butter
~1/4 cup dry muesli/oatmeal
1/2 cup west soy unsweetened milk
1/2 skim milk
pumpkin spice
and a pinch of stevia

*sometimes I add applesauce instead of the banana

Awesomeness in a glass!

Another one I drink to try and get my veggies in through-out the day:

Spinach (a bowl's worth)
Kale (2 full leaves)
Pineapple (about 1/2 cup)
Plant protein (life's basics)
carrots (about 4-5 babies)
chobani non-fat plain greek yogurt (about 1/4 cup)
avocado (about an oz, or 2-3 slices)
black grapes (about 1/4 cup)

I usually add water, but you can add some fruit juice (papaya or esp. guava juice is really good)

Hope you enjoy
