LowcountryTRI - 2010-06-11 10:03 AM

0-0 after the first half of South Africa v. Mexico

Thoughts?

SA looked very shaky for the first 15-20 minutes but then they really started to turn on the heat.  The disallowed goal was close.

Mexico WAS offside on the corner kick, but they should still have at least one goal from open headers.

Hoping for a SA stunner in the 2nd half.

very close.

Mexico kept it together for the most part and had some really good opportunities.  They need to be careful as their keeper looked a little out of control when South Africa pressured.

Yeah.  I'm cheering for SA.  And I agree they were offside but still, it was close.  And yes, Mexico could easily be up by 2 or 3.

Those African teams are tricky like that. Sit back, play defense, survive a couple almost-goals, then somebody blasts in a 90-mph, 30-yard blast late in the game.

Beautiful counter attack.  Open field by Shabalala (sp?) sprinting 1/2 the pitch and putting it into the upper far post!  Thing of beauty!
