BIG storms up here last night- not sure if that will affect HFP or not. I'm in Sylvania, inland from Oregon (Maumee Bay State Park).

The storm probably cooled down the water. You will probably be able to use a wetsuit.

I hope the wind dies down by tomorrow.

Women's race went off this morning. Talking with the HFP staff the only issues they seem to have was a bunch PG fencing blew over and there tents just about sailed into the lake. Should be good to go for tomorrow.

Wow, that was a little hot!

Got my new swim suit on Friday, no problems in the swim this time.

Newbz:

Thanks again for the coupon code, wetsuit was great.  I got the long sleeve vortex and it made the swim seem so much more relaxing.

I improve 6 minutes over last years time, but had a little trouble on the run ... legs just didnt seem to want t work.  I was over 6 minutes slower than my most recent 5k, so still got more work to do.  On a positive note I'm pretty sure I was over the 20mph ave for the first time ever, so very happy there.

Holy Hot!  I just rolled back into Chicago from the race and spending some time out on the lake.  Planning on some R&R for a couple of days.

Anybody know where the Race Results are posted?  I looked on the HFP website and it's not there yet...

Thanks

I had fun.  This was my first race where the whole swim was in deep water.  I just kept focusing on getting to each buoy and then I was on the home stretch.

The wind kept my speed down early, but I was able to make it up later on.

Enjoyed meeting you newbz.
