Any folks doing this/ have any thoughts about it? Sounds like a great opportunity to introduce someone into tris at a short distance race and do one yourself earlier in the morning.

I did it last year and will more than likely be doing it again this year.  It is a fun small race.  The bike course is hilly, which I like, and last year the swim was not even close to 1/4 mile.  I am not sure if the bouy drifted or what, but it had to have been closer to 700 yards.  I had a good time.

thanks- I might try that. Would it be a long drive in the am from Conway/Jackson, or would I be better off staying nearer to Ashland?

  I appreciate your help!

this is just a guess, but I would say somewhere around 1:15 from Conway.  I come up from Concord, which is only about 40 minutes.
