Alright so I'm going to be home in Fbks for 2 weeks in July to visit family (and attend a reunion).  I will also happen to be in the peak training phase of Ironman training.  Bringing my bike is going to be way too expensive and way too much work and since you apparently can't rent a road (or obviously a tri bike) in Fbks, I'm going to be doing 6+ hr training rides on my step-dad's hybrid bike.

Is there anyone up there down for joining me on a ridiculously long ride?  I never biked when I lived there so my best guess for a good route is out and back on Goldstream and then out and backs on Steese and Elliott.

I also noticed that there is a short tri out at Chena Lakes the first weekend I'm there so I think I'm going to do that for the experience of actually doing a tri in AK.

I'd also graciously accept any offers for running training partners as well .  I've been spoiled with lots of great training partners down here in GA and am worried about the lack of accountability during the absolute hardest part of my training.
