After arguing myself in and out of this effort for the past decade, at 60 i take the plunge! Sheesh, you'd think I'd have learned by now. Like i told the mates at the bike store...can't swim, can't run...complete hilarity. But i've done plenty of time trials, I know what it's like to have nothing in my gut by 6 a.m.. In my mind, I'm thinking this will be comparable to a 40k, energy-wise. But i love thinking about the transitions, y/n?y/n? endless. It's just great to be able to do this gig.

Hello and welcome!  Good luck with your first and enjoy it.  Sounds like you are a solid biker and you can always jog/walk the run as needed, so as long as you can swim the distance using any combination of strokes, you'll do fine.  My one suggestion - wait 10 or 15 seconds to let the swim start thin out a bit to avoid the washing-machine effect.
