I'm quite surprised, I'm not all that sore (muscle). ALL of my pains are from chaffing/rubbing etc. I don't want to get too graphic here!!

PR for me even with a flat 1.2 miles into the bike. I cant believe I missed the BT gathering in the transition zone this morning. I guess I had lots on the mind. Maybe next race! Congrats all!

Yep, the run sucked. Even so, I had an 11 minute PR, so I'm happy! The bike saved the day for me, as my swim was slow as dirt, and my run wasn't much better. And I have a doozy of a blister. Ow.

It was great to meet stmaas, kath2163, zionvier, and mcgilmartin!

I had a good race and was right on track to finish at my target time then with 5 miles left on the run I started cramping badly.  The last 5 miles were 50/50 walking an running Frown

It was "fun, fun, until the run" but at least I was in good company out there!  Early into the run I fell into an informal pace group, so just tried to stick with the folks at my 'energy level'.  I had a good swim, good bike, and finished the run course.  And best of all, since it was my 1st 70.3 I PR'd too Cool !

So, I'm hearing that the finisher medals have a typo and say 13.1 mile swim instead of run.  Do all of yours have the same typo?

Yep, that's one of many Public Relations fubar's on the part of WTC yesterday.
I was going to spring for a bike jersey, but the Larges were sized for  a 12 yr old, and a staffer told me that someone way up the food chain saved $$ by buying offshore generics and stamping the K-Swiss logos instead of buying from them directly.  I tried an XL, but it was like a skin suit and they were out of XXL.  The fabric felt really cheap anyway...
The sizing issue with the race shirts was the same for the dri-fit/tech tees they were selling too.
They also were selling IM 70.3 Boulder hats with the full IM distance stamped on the back.
And here I thought they were  the big experienced race organization...

Yes my finisher medal had the same typo "13 mile swim"!! Oh well.. at least it makes me sound more bad !! Ha Haaa!! It was my first triathlon, or race of any kind!! I went in to it with a hurt ankle/foot which made my run horrible, and a dis-located shoulder that did not help my swim!! All in all I had a blast and am not sore at all and no blisters or chaffing!! I got lucky I suppose!!

I ended up with a pathetic time of "7hrs.13min.57sec"!! Pretty much almost LAST!!

Oh well next year will be much better!! Congratulations to everyone who raced!! I forgot where we were meeting for the picture so I missed that...next time!

Cheers!!

Congrads to everyone!!    I had great race although once the heat tab kicked in and the clouds went away it got real hot especially on the run.  The swim was great and the bike was fun except for two things a bee hitting my helmet and stinging me on top of the head (inside my helmet)  If you saw a guy hitting is helmet that was me trying to kill it so it would stop stinging me.  After my bee encounter I was almost forced into oncoming traffic on the bike 8 or 9 times.  Why do people feel the need to hang out on the left verses the right even when they are all alone??  The run was a killer due to stomach issues at mile 6.  I really have to figure out what is causing my stomach problems when I get to the run.  Overall I feel good muscle wise but my stomach still feels a little weird even after 24 hours.
