My absolute favorite was for my women's XC team back in 2003. I actually wore the shirt today:

My daughter's CC team had "if it was easy everyon would do it" on their shirts but the kids really wanted the one about your sports puni=shment IS my sport.

We do speed one day, and LSD the next.

These are great! I'm making a list, we'll see what my kids like. Btw, it's a co-ed team: one girl, eight boys.

I so didn't even get this at first!  I read it as a runner so it wasn't all that funny....... then the drug reference hit me!  hilarious.

Challenge them to come up with the sayings (these are high-schoolers, aren't they?) 

What temperament do you want to instill?  If you want to build a condescending attitude, pick the sayings that mention another team or another sport.  (And don't be surprised if you have a team member a little uncomfortable with wearing such a team shirt. )  If you want to build work ethic, pick something that focuses on the internal drive/movitation. 

If you have some time, browse around cafe press. 

This is very clever, but I guarantee you that at least one parent will have a problem with this one.

Our high school wrestling team used to wear t-shirts with this on the back:

Everyone wondered what it was, but the wrestlers were sworn to secrecy. But that was years ago, so I'm sure I can let the secret out.

I know it is not age appropriate but I loved the shirt that said "I live with fear everyday of my life and sometimes she lets me Tri"
