"If it's hurting me, it's breaking them"
unknown

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Phi 4:13

Your biggest competitor isn’t someone else.  It’s the burning in your legs and the aching in your lungs, and a voice inside that yells "can't".  But you don’t listen, you just push harder until you hear a voice whisper "can", and you realize that the person you thought you were, is no match for the one you really are.
Someone posted it here.

People regret not getting their workout out in, skipping it. You never regret coming FROM the gym/ pool/ bike.

Those who risk nothing, do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothing. - Dave Jefferies

Commitment is doing the things you said you'd do, long after the mood you said it in has left you. - Bear Grylls’ mother (Sarah Grylls)

TRICLOPICUS - 2010-08-17 12:48 AM Gotta love Dylan Thomas!

This always gets me fired up:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Yes, and it's even more epic when recited by Thornton Melon:

From my army sergeant:

There is no such thing as "can't do". It's "won't do".

I always thought that something was missing, so I have added, and remind myself of this:

There is no such thing as "can't do". It's "Won't do". And that is unacceptable.

ironman2284 - 2010-08-17 8:43 AM Quote in my sig is from 180 South... there are a bunch in that movie. Incredible (and short) MUST SEE movie.

^^^I just watched it this past weekend.  GREAT movie!

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.  Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.  Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.  Education will not; the world is full of educated derilicts.  Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.  The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." - Calvin Coolidge

I have two......

"Triathlon has become life in microcosm, a metaphor that gives truth to the wisdom passed from each generation to the next: work hard and you will be rewarded, have faith in yourself and you will excel; do not falter when an ill wind blows your way." Ashley Halsey

"Courage is fear that has said it's prayers".
