Yep, my lower back is jacked up, and any amount of stretching, heat/ice, or yoga doesn't seem to help. I'm going to give it another day, but then I'm going to need to see a pro.

Anyone have recommendations? I'm in Estes during the week, but may be able to come to Denver/Boulder at times during the day, otherwise I'm always in Denver on the weekends...

Any help would be appreciated!

Mark Plaatjes at In Motion Rehabilitation in Boulder is EXTREMELY good.  I messed up my SI joint and it was affecting my lower back/hip/butt to the point where I couldn't walk without severe pain.  Several weeks of ice, stretching, foam roller, rest, etc only made the injury worse.  A few sessions with Mark, and I was able to ramp training back up again.

Good luck and heal well!

Alta Physical Therapy in Boulder is very good.  I've not used them for long term issues but they offer free clinics every other week at my running store and have fixed me up pretty well when I've seen them.  The program at the store started as they were the group that Alan Culpepper used when he lived here.  If you'd like to see a sports massage therapist I'd be happy to give you some names via PM of people who work closely with our running club.

I'm sure Boulder area is a little more convenient, but there is a great place down in Lone Tree called Peak Energy Performance Therapy.  It's a smaller clinic but they specialize in athletic injuries and have two great PTs + a message therapist.  Megan fixed my 2-year bout with chronic achilles tendinitis in a matter of weeks.  I will always make sure to go in before each season and after races.

Hey man,

This is the guy I was talking about on Sunday.

His M.O. is a chiro, but does sport rehab, and uses ART.

Ben Freeman with Peak Energy PT in Lone Tree is very good.  I've used him for years.

Tyler or McKenzie with Chiropractic Dimensions in Lone Tree.  I'd had back pain for years that would come and go and on a whim, I saw McKenzie for it the last time it flared up.  She diagnosed me with SI joint dysfunction within 5 minutes and the next day I was pain free.  Amazing to feel good but frustrating that no one could figure it out before.

Mark Plaatjes is amazing but sadistic
