Well it's 3 days before this debut race in Banff any thoughts on if they might cancel the swim due to the plummeting temperature? Last I heard it was 11 degrees celsius! I swam in 14 degree water up in Edmonton in June and that was REALLY cold, I can't imagine 11 degree water....

I'm a bit worried about the water especially since the air temperature isn't going to be great either.  Is there a chance it would be cancelled?  I noticed they moved the start time out an hour.... not sure that will make much of a difference.  Its only my second Olympic race and the weather is taking some of the fun out of it!

We're gonna FREEZE!

Going to wear a double swim cap.
Wearing arm/leg warmers the whole time.
Bringing a jacket for the bike and take the time penalty in transition and drag.
Bringing full fingered gloves for the bike.

Swim was cold but ok, but I froze to death on the bike. My booties didn't repel water like I thought they would and no shell (since I wasn't expecting actual rain). Felt sorry for the pros in their little singlets.

They need to switch the Banff date with one of the ones in BC in the series.  I can't see the water ever being an acceptable temperature unless it's the middle of Summer.
