Ok apperntly someone accidently deleted the original thread not sure how that happens so easily, which stinks because we had some good info on the course. So let’s get the ball rolling again and hopefully the thread won’t get deleted again.

Yeah I know? Can't figure out why I can't see the old race talk anymore.  BT help desk told me the old one was deleted and I had to create another thread.  So now, I have the link to the old one I'm trying to get them to delete this one and the original thread back.

Hi, I would love to do Oceanside but live in Chicago and will probably be training indoors.  Has anyone completed a HIM after training indoors?

My training starts in November for CA 70.3.  As for training indoors many people do it, just remember you should try to get out on the warm days or hit an indoor track when possible.

Did you sign up for the race yet, or are you planning on the 2012 race.  The only reason I ask is CA is sold out for 2011.  If you just want to do a 70.3 Ironman race there are races much later in the year so you could train outside more.  For me most of my training specifically biking will be done inside but my running I’ll get probably 75% outside.  Good luck on your triathlon training.

It was posted on the local thread, and seems to be confirmed by the course website that they are not going onto the sand this year.  Going around the condos on breakwater.  Trade sand for a small hill each way.   The only other time I did this race they also deleted the sand.

Will we are about a week out from 20 weeks.  I am looking forward to training again I’ve had a great off season and now I’m getting my training itch back.  I hope my Achilles fully healed by then.  I took 5 weeks completely off just some weight training and that it's, so far I feel no tightness when I wake up in my Achilles.

Hope you are all healed up and experience no problems.  I'm running a half mary on the  14th and will start training for Cali the following Monday.  Cali HIM is one of those "in my back yard" deals, so I'm hoping being able to ride/run the course will help me improve my time.

BTW - I'm still not sure which thread is the actual OFFICIAL thread for the Cali-HIM.  There's like three or four floating here......

Injured my hip on a trail run, have to DNS the 11/14 half mary, and haven't run in two weeks.  Not a very auspicious start

This is the official thread.  There was an issue with the original thread and they chose to delete it.

Going to pick my bike up on Monday from getting all tuned up for another fun season, man I'm pumped for this season.

Alrighty then, now I know I'm in the right place.  One more week until I start my training.  After Cali HIM I roll right into training for IMFL.....It's gonna be a good year.  The bike course goes right by where I work on CPEN....hope the home court advantage helps out!

Nice to see another local on the thread.  Read your RR from Augusta - "fancy flying squirrel dismounter" cracked me up.

Day 1 starts on Monday (Nov 15) for me.....gotta get this half marathon on the Sunday out of the way.  But that's kind of training right?

I just re-did the cockpit on my bike, a 2007 Fuji Aloha 1.0.  Not the newwest sleekest fastest carbonist aeroist bike around.....but neither is my body.  It works for me and I really like it.

It had ritchy (sp) base and aero bars on it, but my brother gave me his stock vision aero bars that came on his P2 and I bought the vision base bar and stem off ebay for $40.  I'm using my old stem (100mm) for the time being, but I'll keep the 90 in case I need it once I get a proper fitting at Nytro.  It won't make me faster, but the new setup looks faster. I don't care how fast I go, as long as I look fast while changing my tube out on the side of the road.....Cool
