It's official, my next 70.3 will be the at Lake Las Vegas!  6th in my age group and 102 overall.  Good enough to grab a rolldown slot!  I'll get a race report written as soon as I get motivated to do anything but sit around.

Congrats Doug...was looking for you out there but couldn't find you.  I had a rough day out there...bad swim, a bike mechanic issue and tried to compensate for the lost time (15-20 mins) on the bike by cranking it a bit, which caused me to blow up on the run.   After the race, I hopped into a plane to Boston to visit my buddies.  Bad idea to sit for 6 hours after swimming biking and running for that same amount of time.  Great job everyone.  I'm doing IMAZ this year, so hopefully I'll see some of you guys out there.   Going to fill out an rr soon.  =)

Great swim Chris!  We'll have to meet at the water sometime so you can get me swimming like that.

Congrats to everyone just for making it through the second half of that bike course! I dropped my change somewhere between mile 53 - 55 too.  Luckily it's a lot easier to fix than a flat.  My hand got all greasy though and I had to remind myself through out the run not to wipe my face with that hand or else end up with war paint.

Congrats on the Vegas slot, that's incredible.  I am in awe of your run splits.  Just WOW.  I did get to meet your age group winner (good guy), as my wife just happened to be talking with his mom after the race.  He's a swimmer and cross-country runner who added bike, and has been doing tris for a decade.

Tough day out on the back half of the bike course (I would say the wind was *slightly* more than 3 mph).  Congrats to everyone - there were some great performances out there!  I cracked and fell apart around mile 35 on the bike and the run was pretty painful for me.  Already looking forward to the next one!

Thanks Doug, if you can tell me how to ride and run, I'll tell you how to swim    CONGRATS on the worlds slot.  I am always impressed at people that set qualifying goals and then go out and do it.   I looked for you out there, but you were too fast.  I also looksed at all the odwalla jerseys but none were Mike.

David - maybe some day we'll meet at a race instead of being cyberbuddies

Did hook up with Hans, Paul and Tim on the run at various points

I am also glad that others had the same impression of the wind on the southbound section.  I don't mind wind.  I don't mind hills.  But both together are tough on this clyde.  The only other time I did this race it was minimal wind, even on Vandegrift.  There was a time or two on the bike where I seriously thought all I'd be able to do was limp in on the bike and bag the day entirely.

Well it was my second 70.3 first being lake stevens and beat my first time by 28 minutes but was still not happy with the performance.  Swim was about 7 minutes slower then expected but missed a buoy and had to swim back around it. UGH!!! bike for me was great but the first hill was pretty hard and was only my second ride outside.  When I got to the run i had good nutrition and fluids but my back was killing me from the new bike and pushing on the hills so that cost me another good 40 minutes.  Seriously 40 minutes had to stop and stretch and walked most water areas.  But I set a PR so i am happy about that.  Lake Stevens 70.3 here I come and IMAZ from my first Ironman.  Thanks for all the tips and inspiration for this race it was a great one.  Hopefully in a couple years I will get so say I qualified for something.

FWIW: AccuWeather.com is predicting 3 MPH winds out of the ESE tomorrow from 8-11.

Apparently not worth a damn!

Congrats to all who did well and finished on this course. Challenging day, and saw a few of you. Great job. As for myself, I died really early, and just died. Body went to crap, guess extrem lack of training really showed up. Didn't have any baseline to hold me up this year. Ouch!!

This was my worst time in over half a decade.

Be back again to avenge this, as long as my wife isn't pregnant again. Challenging to mnage one kid and train, but two and train!! Someone needs to educated on how they do it. Theirs a new thread to have on BT! Some support / training group for new dad's! Cheers!!

Congrats everyone! It was a pretty brutal day for me out there, but I finished! For being severely undertrained on swim and bike I did OK on both those legs considering, but paid for it with a dismal run, even for my dismally slow runs. Ah well I had a BLAST, the atmosphere was fantastic... Look forward to reading race reports... Still a couple travel days to go. Awesome job everyone!

I survived & managed to hit my third tier goal of breaking 6 hours. The headwind killed me! I managed to stay "running" - but just barely. A very cool course & I can't wait to do it again. Congratulations to everyone!

Does anyone have an idea how long it typically takes for Ironman races to post the full "official" results on their sites?  I can still only see the first 100 when I search age groups.  Thanks!

AWESOME!! I was hoping you would get a slot in Vegas. Wishing you the best out there, hopefully without the free 'warpaint' from the dropped chain. Pretty impressive, chain drop AND still get a slot Now THATS racing at its finest!!

I remember it took several weeks before all of the results were converted to a PDF file. I remember looking at another race result, and this if my memory serves me correctly. Hopefully they will do this in the this race. The website has changed alot since the 2010 race. I hope the new website team does this for this race too.

They sent me an email saying they were ready, with a link to them and the finish video.  I didn't look at the prices though because i don't usually buy race pics

Thanks, guys. I usually get that email, too. I don't usually buy either but always like to look at them.  Guess it makes me see I actually am doing these things.
