Swim
Comments: Not expecting so much traffic...Collided hard with another swimmer mid-race, owie. My cold still left me with some breathing difficulties. What would you do differently?: Practice more...especially when there are THAT many people swimming laps back and forth!! Transition 1
Comments: I have no idea how long T1 actually took. They gave us all 3 minutes at T1. I don't think anyone was actually counting. What would you do differently?: Not worry about bringing flip flops, just run with my towel from pool to T1. Bike
Comments: Really struggled with gear problems. Also my rear brake caught my bike, explaining (in part) the sub-par time. What would you do differently?: Get the bike checked before the next race! Something isn't quite right with those gears...They were randomly switching, maybe there was a chain problem... Transition 2
Comments: This went pretty smooth... I put on my camelpak and ran! Run
Comments: The run felt really good. After getting those first miserable few yards out of the way.... Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bit, quick shower. Came home, ate, crashed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Struggled on the bike. Wish I would have practiced more swimming. Event comments: Big party with food afterwards! I liked the awards ceremony. I ended up carrying plenty to drink when I was running since there were no water stations along the way. I'd definitely do it again! Last updated: 2010-08-16 12:00 AM
