I didn't sign up for next years race, wanted to take a year off.  However now I have a legit reason to race again next year, that and I might be able to sell my wife on it.  Honey... I have to do it.  Its a tribute to 9/11.

The Rumor about the Jerseys is true.  Past IMWI finishers from my Dept and I brainstormed the idea when we realized the significance of the date.  We approached IM with the idea about 6 months ago, and prayed they would jump on board.  We were pleased to find they were all in.  We are working on other special recognition also, but those are still in the works so I don't want to put them out there yet without knowing they are approved.  My understanding is that these slots are in addition to the field and did not take the place of any regular slots.  We did not want our idea to take away from otherw who wanted to take part in the event in our city.   I wish there were more slots available.  I am glad to see others are inspired by this.  I hope all that want a slot get one.

I think I got the approval from my wife to race again next year.  Looks like I will be submitting an application soon.  I think this is a great idea and a way to bring attention to all those affected by 9/11 and the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sounds good, I have a number of good rides around our neck of the woods.  Some good hills to the west which mimic the course very well, but with much less traffic.

I have found some hills up north. I ride out on Portage road north. Traut Road is one wicked hill to do repeats on. Will be fun to ride together.
I am always open to new riding company.
