Got a 1:31, and am definitely happy about the race; for some reason I always take the Seattle course out too hard, nice 5.5 minute positive split. Doubt anybody saw me, but I was the tall, skinny blonde dude in a black singlet and sweet 80's blue shorts.

Also learned that my legs are in much better shape than my lungs. My friend Alycia (who I was running with, until mile 9.5, when she left me in the dust) finished under 1:28, and was the 8th woman... 8 minute PR for her!

ericwjacobson - 2010-11-28 7:50 PM Finished my first 1/2 marathon in 1:49 unofficial.  Looking forward to the next race.

Thanks to Dave and Lisa for the support at the race

Here is the official stuff

Official time 1:49:28 or 8:21 per mile
Finished 65 out of 322 in my age group
Finished 698 out 3205 overall

Very happy with my first race. Time to rest the guns as they are sore. It was fun and looking forward to the next race

What a great day for everyone!! Congratulations on all of the PRs!!

I was a 1:50:57, which is a course PR for me by 3 minutes. Not quite a lifetime PR (about a minute off), but I was happy with the run. I felt really good out there. Still suck at hills (always). But it was a great day. Anytime it's not raining for that race is such a treat.

In the end I was forced to watch the race from the sideline due to an injury. Up until 6am this morning I was still 50/50 on doing it. Got all geared up, sprayed and taped up my ankle, stepped out into the hotel hallway to take a run up and down it and knew my race was over. It sucks but we had a great time in Seattle with friends and sometimes that's all that matters. Looking forward to the off-season and getting all healed up and prep'd for the tri season. Congrats on the run guys.

I PR'd my first ever marathon yesterday!  3:50:28.  Not exactly as fast as I had wanted to go, but I don't care.  I finished, and am relatively not too sore today.  For those of you that like to give advice or analyze...try this one:

13.1 split:  1:42
26.2 total: 3:50 (back half 2:08 split)

I should probably work on that huh?  Ha!!!  It was still fun, but man those last 8-10 miles really sucked for me!  I guess I should have trained a little more than 8ish weeks and had more than one long (18 mile) run.  Totally self-critiquing, but that's how I learn.  Onto rest!

Sorry I didn't post my number. I was 7049 and finished in 2:10. About my usual time for this distance and I didn't get under my PR of 2:01. That was my goal but I took what I could get thanks to injuries and lack of training the last month or so. That second half was a grind! My legs are paying the price for it too, haven't been this sore since my first time in Seattle back in the snow and slush year of 2006!

Hope everyone else enjoyed it too! :-)

Seattle full marathon is a tough course.  Hills starting at mile 19 with the big one at 20 really test you.  Even the leaders are all 6-10 minutes slower on their 2nd half splits.
