Comments: Started out the first three miles on about a 8:15 pace. I thought it was too fast, but I felt as though I was going slow. I attempted to keep the same pace throughout, but the wind and some hills prevented that from happening. I think one of the later (post 20) miles was sub 8, which I found surprising. What would you do differently?: Not much, I'm very happy finishing this race in under 4 hours. Post race
Warm down: Just went to the food (which was a GREAT spread) ate and talked to one of the other participants. Eventually I took off my shoes to allow my feet to "unwind". What limited your ability to perform faster: The wind and hills. Event comments: This race had just under 500 runners for the full, relay and half. Organization was great, especially since this a fairly small race. Only real negative was the timing chips...they weren't in our packets and the pickup location wasn't clearly marked. This fact was emphasized by a runner asking me where I got my chip as we were lining up to start the race. Last updated: 2010-07-14 12:00 AM

Got up 1.5 hrs prior, showered and ate peanut butter toast. Drove to event, picked up chip, and did some mild stretching.
Mild stretching. I didn't partake in the aerobics being led by an instructor to warm up.
