Car 1: 2002 4Runner Limited w/ a Thule bike and ski rack (and bullet in the basement). And try to keep it clean as I might, I'm sure there's enough dog hair tucked away in there to create another puppy. Technically, that's their car. I'm just their chauffeur.

Car 2: 2005 Infiniti G35 (sedan). My car during the week. It's 1 week old. The dogs get to look at it and smell it and that's about it.

96 honda civic...nothing exciting.

My mom on the other hand within the last year FINALLY got rid of her 1989 honda accord. She refused to sell it to several people, afraid that they wouldnt treat it right. There were way too many memories from driving with us kids all over the country in that car for her to part with it. Finally, she agreed to sell it to our neighbors because she would be able to look out the window and know its ok. When she sold it there were 320,435 MILES on it, and the only thing wrong with it is that the AC is sometimes testy.

Its funny how attached we become to our cars....like our second homes.

I like it a lot.

The guy I passed in the mustang was a little surprised

Yeah baby. I hear you can only buy them in Canada (in N America that is). I've been considering a little importing....

If you hate SUV's you are going to say 'look, here comes one of those SUV idiots', then scrutinze EVERYTHING they do. Whereas the 'idiot' in the Subaru Outback gets a pass, because you like their car.

In fact, put anyone in a bad mood behind any wheel and you got an accident waiting to happen.

My point exactly.

2004 Toyota Sequoia.  Hubby wanted me in the bigger SUV after I plowed into some pothead that drove in front of my old Trailblazer.  Got a Saris T-Rax, but I like the option of throwing the bikes in the back. Never know when some punk will come by and take it. Gotta love New Orleans!

Solar yellow Nissan Xterra (my short bus). I can fit 2 bikes, 8 scuba tanks, the rest of our bike and dive gear, Wifey and myself and actually make it the whole way to Canada in one piece. I love my short bus Plus, it goes off-road very well too.

I drive a 2003 VW Golf TDI (turbodiesel). It gets great gas mileage (44.01 mpg for the life of the car) and it's roomy enough to fix my bike in the back. Love it.

Awesome, that's the car I want. I have a friend who's running her 2005 Golf TDI entirely on biodiesel made from used vegetable oil from local restaurants - there's a co-op here that makes it and all you have to do is join. Goodbye gas stations!

If I started running into things I think my DH would suggest driving lessons, not a larger squash-em-mobile. I know that will sound bitchy, but come on - this line of thinking that says "buy a bigger car to protect ME no matter how much more dangerous it makes the roads for others" is just anti-social.

I am including a picture of the vehicle I was in when SOMEONE ELSE cut in front of me. I was going to work, minding my own damn business when someone made a left turn in front me.  I was going 55mph and did not have time to stop or swerve (into oncoming traffic).  I had to call my DH on his first day of a much-needed vacation to bring me to the emergency room.  So don't you dare insult me or my husband by making small-minded comments like that.

If any one of your family members were in a crash like this, you would want them in a bigger, safer vehicle too.  All of my friends who ride in my "anti-social" mobile would disagree with you on that account as well.

Don't be so quick to judge someone by what kind of car they drive.  Thanks a lot for pissing me and my DH off.
